Auditions are held at Crittenden Middle School which is located at 6158 Jefferson Avenue. PYO Audition Requirements for 2009/2010 Season. I. SCALES Violin----3 octave C major; and 2 octave D and F Majors (3 octaves played will receive additional points) Viola/Cello-----3 octave D major; and 2 octave G and F Majors (3 octaves performed will receive additional points) Bass---2 octave G major; and 1 octave C and F Majors (2 octaves performed will receive additional points) Woodwinds/Brass---1 Major Scale from the following: C, G, D, A, F, Bb, Eb; and a chromatic scale demonstrating your knowledge of the range of the instrument Percussion----You must audition on snare, mallet and timpani 1. Snare---Paradiddle, Flam-Tap 2. Mallets---2 octave Major scale from the following: C, G, D, F, Bb 3. Timpani---Long roll, from ppp to fff 4. Percussionists MUST bring their own sticks and mallets to the auditions
II. PREPARED SELECTION Each instrument will receive a copy of an orchestral excerpt that must be prepared at the designated tempo marking.

III. SIGHT-READING Each instrument is required to sight-read. Each person will perform the sight-reading after quietly studying the example for 30 seconds.
